I really liked all the surf session I had with Ale during this 2 weeks. I discovered a lot of amazing surf spot and also get some tuk tuk driving lessons! Goods waves, palm tree, turtles, sun, jungle, monkey, fresh food and good vibe. Such a perfect combo !

I stayed 11 days at the surf & yoga camp in Arugambay which was enough time to fall in love with that place. It’s so easy to hang loose there with all the good vibes… I don’t really know what I loved the most – maybe it was just the combination of surfing, yoga and the delicious food at the vegan coffee (honestly I guess I spent half of my vacation there…) and of course the extremely relaxing thai massage by juli. I’d absolutely recommend this camp to everyone looking for a nice place to stay. Someone that appreciates the simple life and who loves to chill, eat, surf, do yoga and chat with people. I wanna thank everyone at the camp for making my stay more than perfect and I honestly hope to see you guys again.

“Great place”
I stayed there one week and it was hard to leave. Great place with amazing atmosphere and nice people. All the rooms are clean with AC and private balcony. Food is very delicious and freshly made. Cooking or having dinner together really makes you feel like a part of a big family. Additionally they have the only vegan cafe in neighborhood serving extremely good food. Every day I had yoga classes with Ansa and it was amazing. She was great to chat with and made the class fun while making it a bit challenging but tailored to fit the participants. I also tried there my first surfing lessons, my instructor was Nilam and Ansa and he was brilliant. He took a lot of care to teach me the basics. Very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I was able to stand on the board within the first hour! They also have a professional photographer Faina to photograph your surfing or yoga classes. I really enjoyed my time there and the fact that people extend their stay at Surf and Yoga whenever they can is the best recommendation.

“Beautiful stay with Surf and Yoga ”
I loved the place. It was very peaceful and homie. There is place to relax either at the balcony if your room with beautiful view on the trees or at the patio downstairs in a hammock. There is also a coffee place and vegan restaurant. I didnt get a chance to try it as I came outside the season but will definitely be back. All staff was very friendly, helpful and place was full positive and peaceful energy. Beach is just few min away by walk and beautiful coconut tree hill is round the corner. Breakfast provided for delicious and there is a lot of options to choose from. I attended surf classes. Instructors were amazing and committed and passionate to help you. There is a place to do yoga in the middle of the guest house Amazing place to wake up to.

amazing surf holidays with a great teacher!
We had a very good time in Arugambay and great surf lessons with Nilam. He’s a smart surf-instructor and explains everything in a professional and detailed way. We had every day a sense of achievement and lots of fun!

We catched up randomly
Me and my girlfriend just met Ansa randomly. Which made the perfect stay even more surprising. It’s a great and well maintained surfcamp with super food and awesome staff, they will help you where/when ever they can. I can highly recommend this place for every Sri Lanka journey , they will help you to catch a wave if it’s the first one/ or work in a good vibe with you on your technique to improve your skills. Now go and get the waves there

Very professional and nice surf camp
It is a very well organized surf camp with very nice and professional people. Ansa and his team are very helpful for all matters. For surfing each day the best spots are chosen. To avoid the crowds most surf sessions are early morning and late afternoon, and it is worth getting up early.

Star Rest Surf surf camp
Best experience ever! The best surfing instructors, they are very motivating and very professional, always taking care of your safety but having a lot of fun at the same time. If you want to learn to surf and have an awesome time, Star Rest Surf Camp is the place to go. They take it seriously and take you around the different surfing spots near Arugam Bay. I contact Ansa every time I am back in A-Bay and already looking forward to to my next visit!

Phenomenal Surf Camp
Had a great stay at Star Rest Surf Camp. Was traveling alone and felt immediately at home. The camp is incredibly laid back and friendly; everyone hangs out together and so finding friends was super easy. Ansa is also an amazing instructor. So knowledgeable, such a good teacher. Makes you feel so safe and confident in the water. Could not speak highly enough of the whole experience. Definitely go
