Day 1 – Colombo
Sri Lanka is home to some of South Asia’s most intriguing religious and cultural attractions, featuring elaborate art and architecture, and spectacular festivals, revealing the essence of the island’s fascinating history, and rich cultural heritage.
Historical sites such as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, ArugamBay and Dambulla, once home to ancient kingdoms, still retain many relics and artefacts of bygone eras. The famous rock fortress of Sigiriya and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Kandy, are must-see places. A multi-religious country, Sri Lanka has many religious festivals that take place year around, such as Vesak for Buddhists, Nallur Festival for Hindus and Madhu Festival for Catholics.
From pick up at the Bandaranaike International Airport, your two week cultural tour will begin in Colombo – the commercial capital of the island. Galle Face Hotel is where you will be staying on your first night.
Day 2 & 3 – Anuradhapura
After a city tour of Colombo the next day, you will take off to the city of Anuradhapura. En route, you stop at Yapahuwa ancient city (a 300 foot fortified wonder dating back to the 13th century) and explore the area. In Anuradhapura, you will sleep over at Palm Garden Village.
On day three, the ancient city of Anuradhapura will be explored where you will get to observe several historical remains. Later in the day you will visit the Mihintale Buddhist Temple and head back to your hotel for the night.
Day 4 & 5 – Sigiriya
On your way to Sigiriya the next day, you will stop for a visit to the Aukana Buddha Statue and the Dambulla Cave Temple. Your hotel for the night will be Cinnamon Lodge.
On day five we have a touch of adventure lined up for you where, you will be taken to visit the ancient and historical city of Polonnaruwa. Afterwards, you can have an amazing Rice & Curry . Later that day, you can climb and explore the “Lion’s Rock” in Sigiriya. This activity is quite doable by most people so don’t fret at the task of climbing a rock! Your overnight stay will be at Cinnamon Lodge.
Day 6,7 – Kandy
The next morning you will begin your journey to the hill capital of Kandy. En route you will visit the Matale Alu Viharaya Buddhist Temple and the Matale Hindu Temple. In Kandy, you will be taken to enjoy an evening show of the cultural dance of Kandyans. Amaya Hills is where you will sleep over for the night.
On day seven you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and obtain blessings from the Buddhist Monks there. Next you will go on to visit the Three Temple Loop known as the Gadaladeniya, Embekke and Lankathilake Temples. These are Hindu-Buddhist Temples from the 14th Century. Towards the evening you will get back to your hotel in Kandy for your night stay.
On the final day in Kandy you get to explore the culture of the Veddas in Dambana Mahiyanganaya and visit the Mahiyanganaya Temple. Once again, Amaya Hills is where you will sleep over for the night.
Day 8 – Nuwara Eliya
Day 8 is when you head towards the beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya where you will come across several water falls on the way. Ramboda Falls is one visit we have scheduled for you. Along the way you can also visit the Pedro Tea Factory and the luscious tea plantations of the country. You will also be given a tour of Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England”. Your overnight stay will be at Grand Hotel.
Day 9 – Ella
From Nanu Oya, you will be taking a beautiful train journey to Ella, where a visit to Rawana Falls is a must. In Ella, you will spend the night at Mountain Heavens.
Day 10 – Arugambay
Welcome to an Arugam Bay surf camp experience! Arugam Bay surf camp is a fun filled surf camp in the heart of Arugam Bay and by joining this surf camp, you will get surf lessons, massage, and all surf equipment required to make your surf camp enjoyable. Also, you will have a chance to taste the best smoothie bowls in town. Come over and enjoy the good vibes and the fun spirit of the surf team!
Day 11 – Udawalawa
Early morning the next day you are advised to explore the breathtaking view of the sunrise from the “Arugambay”. You will then depart to the town of Udawalawa where we will take you on a luxurious jeep safari in the Udawalawa National Park. That night you will stay at the Centauria Wild.
Day 12 – Galle
On day 12 you head on to the city of Galle, en route you will visit the hot water springs in Embilipitiya as well as the fish market in Weligama. You also get a chance to observe the old and challenging tradition of stilt fishing. In Galle, your night stay will be at Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel.
Day 13 & 14 Colombo
On day thirteen you will explore the Galle Dutch Fort and learn about its history. A boat ride on the Madu Lake is also on the list before you begin your journey to the capital city of Colombo. Upon reaching Colombo, you will check in to Galle Face Hotel for your overnight stay.
On day fourteen you may take a city tour of Colombo if you have approximately 6-7 hours for your flight departure time.

The trip was really an amazing experience!!
We planned the tour via Budget Arugambay tours agency. Everything wonderfully arranged according to our requirements. From the warm welcome at the airport by our tour guide Ansa driver Ishak till the last day in Colombo the tour was simply the best and a memorable one. Ishak accompanied us for the entire duration of the tour. We were so impressed by his efficiency, punctuality, excellent driving and pleasant personality! He also went out of the way to make sure we could visit the other unusual places on our list like Geoffrey Bawa house in colombo.

Sri Lanka trip 2019
We, family of 6 traveled for 14 days across Sri Lanka in the last week of June 2019. We covered Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Kalutara, Arugambay, tringomalle and Colombo. We are glad that we chose Budget Arugambay Tours to arrange it, as all the hotels and every service provided was of the excellent grade!
Also we were accompanied by Mr. Ansa as our tour guide. He gave us the best service being professional and giving it a personal touch at the same time!! Thank you so much for the wonderful trip!
Amazing tour of Sri Lanka
We had booked the tour with Budget Arugambay tour. The package was for 13 nights and 14 days covering Colombo, Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya, Bentota, Kandy .Ella, Arugambay and Polonnaruwa. We were taken care of by Abdull. He is so knowledgeable, committed, passionate and a very safe driver / tour guide. We enjoyed the tour and it is now one of our most memorable trip. Would like to mention that the car provided was so clean and tidy. Would like to recommend Budget Arugambay Tours and Abdull as preferred tour guide.
A Two week to Remember
We were a party of eight who booked Budget Arugambay Tours for a two week excursion visiting Kandy ,Nuwera Aliya,Thambulla, Hikkaduwa Ella, Arugambay and Yala National Park. Budget Arugambay Tours provided us with a large air-conditioned bus and did all the hotel bookings and tours. Our guide Ansa was very friendly, punctual and helpful and everything went without a hitch. When he took us on Safari in Yala. I was impressed by his knowledge of the wildlife. We went early in the morning in a tropical rainstorm and saw a family of elephants playing in the mud by the roadside. We particularly enjoyed the train ride on the old train from Kandy to Nuwera Aliya. Every time the train stopped the locals were selling us food through the windows. We always felt safe with a great driver and would highly recommend this Company. The whole trip was made all the more enjoyable by Ansa jokes, and his patience with our various requests. We will definitely recommend this Company to all our friends and family.

Budget Arugambay took amazing care of us, two women traveling together, during the 14 day trip we had all over Sri Lanka. We sent them a rough draft of the place we wanted to see and they worked out timing, hotels, activities and attractions to visit. They were very responsive in the email exchange building our trip, assigned a stellar guide/driver who took us around safely and had an eye for the quality of the service throughout activities, and overall provided an amazing service for what we found to be a very affordable price.

My husband and I, have just spent 15 days touring around Sri Lanka. The tour was perfect from start to finish.. every hotel was fantastic. My wife and I have just enjoyed a holiday which was filled with some of the most amazing experiences that the beautiful Sri Lanka has to offer. Sri Lanka is a wonderful country that delivers at every turn, more so than any other country that we’ve been to. OUR GUIDE….Faina. Our experience was made most memorable by Faina. What an absolutely awesome guy! From the moment he greeted us from Colombo airport with the warmest of smiles (which never left his face for the entire trip) we felt in very safe hands. His knowledge about his country, beautiful Sri Lanka, was exceptional. His passion and comprehension of wildlife taught us more in this few days than we’d have thought possible. His safe driving skills on the local roads, which can be quite hairy at times, was always outstanding and made us feel safe and reassured at all times.

Peace of Mind
My family and I visited Sri Lanka for the first time and did not know what to expect, so we took the, unusual for us, decision to hire through Budget Arugambay Tours our 14 days in Sri Lanka. Having Ansa with us certainly made our first visit enjoyable as his presence and support took away any uncertainty we may have encountered. A great and hassle-free solution for women solo travelers
I’m 32 year old woman coming from Italy, with close to none experience with traveling completely by myself. When planning my trip to Sri Lanka, I was hoping for a solution that could provide me with safety, support with deciding on where to go/what to do, the guarantee of a high quality daily guidance in a country I didn’t know. First Class 2 week tour of Sri Lanka
We booked a private tour with Budget Arugambay Tours. We completed it today and can’t say enough good things about this tour group. Our driver, Ansar and Ishak, took it to the next level. He was fabulous. He was prompt, organized and made our trip seamless. We started with the Cultural Triangle, then on to Sigiria, tea country and finally the beach. Each activity was great fun for all of us and we learned a tremendous amount about a country we knew little about before we came.

Wonderful sights of Sri Lanka
We have just returned from a 16 day tour of Sri Lanka. Our guide and driver Ansa was there to meet us at the airport to start our amazing tour of Sri Lanka. We visited Colombo, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Nuwaraeliya, Ella, Udawalawa, Galle, Arugambay and relaxed at the end of the tour by the beach.
Nothing was too much trouble for Ansa, apart from the tour he arranged an Ayurvedic massage, a whale watching trip and lots of tips on food and the local culture. We had walking difficulties but Ansa was very patient and went that extra mile to ensure we had a good experience everywhere we went.
The hotels were all excellent and the Star Rest Arugambay and Beach were our favourite.
We wanted to see elephants and we weren’t disappointed, we saw lots at very close quarters in Udawalawa National Park and have many photos for our memories.
Sri Lanka has stunning scenery, fascinating culture and friendly people and we would like to thank Budget Arugambay Tours and our friend and guide Ansa for making a perfect holiday.

15 day journey
We have had a great time with Budget Arugambay tours. On our 15 day tour through Sri lanka. From start to finish it was a positive experience. Contact trough email was very quick with responding. When we where in sri lanka our guide/driver Ansa was already waiting for us. He was very knowledge about Sri Lanka and what was nice to visited. He also knew place that where not in the lonely planet.

Cultural Triangle
We used Budget Arugambay tours for our four day visit to the Cultural Triangle in Sri Lanka. We had a great driver who took care of our every need and was flexible when our schedule changed unexpectedly. We liked the hotels and local guides they provided. Especially enjoyed the Sigiriya Rock, the village tour in Sigiriya and bicycling through Polonawara. I would recommend Budget Arugambay tours to friends and family.
Ancient Cities and Sacred Sites of the Cultural Triangle
My 14 day tour of Sri Lanka with Budget Arugambay tours was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the day of my first enquiry, to the moment of my arrival in Colombo and finally my drop off in Arugum Bay, the staff worked tirelessly to accommodate my every wish. Ansa helped to plan my trip and Dilan kept in contact to ensure things ran smoothly. My driver Ishak, was knowledgeable, caring, efficient and extremely kind and helpful. My three night stay in Sigiriya was the perfect base to explore the archaeological sites of central Sri Lanka. Ansa, along with the hand picked side guides, made each experience one I shall never forget. So many highlights to mention: the sublimely peaceful forest hermitage of Ritigala; the imposing Aukana Buddha Statue; the ancient city of Anuradhapura with its sacred Bodhi tree; the climb to the top of Lion Rock; watching a baby elephant feed from its mum in Minneriya National Park and then seeing a group of deer flash past our jeep; eating the most delectable claypot rice and curry in the peaceful surrounds of the rice fields;
Polonnnaruwa and the perfectly carved Buddhas at Gal Vihara and finally the awe inspiring Dambulla Cave Temple. From Sigiriya we went to Kandy and stayed two nights exploring the wonderful Botanical gardens and visiting the Temple of the Tooth. Although I had no other plans, the ever helpful Ansa organised a visit to the Gem Centre, drove me to some wonderful vantage points above the city and arranged for me to see a Kandyan Dance Performance. Ansa was so courteous, helping me in and out of the car, helping me recharge my phone and stopping whenever I needed to. The two hotels I stayed at were very comfortable and the staff were so welcoming and chatty. My final day was the long drive to Arugum Bay where I ended my tour. I am so grateful to this marvellous company for taking my ideas and dreams and making them a reality. I highly recommend Budget Arugambay tours and especially Ansa, whose careful driving, compassionate nature and vast knowledge of Sri Lanka helped to make this a trip of a lifetime.
