Family Tour in Sri Lanka
Upon pick up at the Bandaranaika International Airport, you will be driven to the neighboring city of Negombo where your family tour in Sri Lanka will begin at Jetwing Blue. Depending on the time of the day in which you arrive, you may have time to go on a boat ride in the Muthurajawela Marsh. Your night stay will be at Jetwing Blue in Negombo.
The next morning you will head off to Sigiriya and en route you have a chance to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and mingle with the elephants there. Your overnight stay on day two will be at Heritance Kandalama in Sigiriya.
On the morning of day three, you will be taken to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa where you can explore the ruins left by the Cholas Dynasty. Afterwards, you can experience an amazing Sri Lankan Rice and Curry Experience in the locality of Hotel..
You will end the day by experiencing an amazing sunset atop the Sigiriya Lions Rock.
On day four of this family trip in Sri Lanka will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple in the nearby city of Dambulla and then drive to the city of Kandy. Once there, you will undertake an amazing sightseeing experience around the Kandy Lake and towards the evening you will be taken to enjoy a cultural dance show. Your night stay will be at The Golden Crown hotel.
In the morning, you will partake in the ceremonial event of the Temple of the Tooth. Afterwards, you will begin your journey to the beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya. En route, you stop for a visit at the lovely Ramboda Water Falls. In Nuwara Eliya, your night stay will be at Grand Hotel.
On day six, we take you to explore the stunning Horton Plains and the trail to the “World’s End” point. Also on the schedule is a visit to the lavish tea plantations, Pedro Tea Factory and a boat safari on Gregory Lake. At the end of the day, you return to Grand Hotel for the night.
The following morning we have a beautiful train journey lined up for you from Nanu Oya to the breathtaking town of Ella. Upon reaching, you can visit the “Little Adams Peak” and the Rawana Water Falls. In Ella you also have the unique opportunity of taking part in a cookery class that teaches you how to make the authentic Sri Lankan Rice and Curry. Your overnight stay will be at 98 Acres Resort and Spa.
Star Rest Beach Hotel ‘s experienced surf instructors will be there to guide you through two hours of surf lessons per day. Do not worry if you do not have a surfboard, as you can rent all the surf equipment provided at the camp. You can also enjoy daily drives to local surf spots; the locations vary depending on the day’s wave conditions. Lastly, enjoy a complimentary massage for your sore muscles after a long day of surf lessons and catching waves.
On day eight you will head towards the South of the island. On the way to the city of Yala, you will visit the Buduruwagala Buddha Statue. Once in Yala, you will be taken on an exciting Jeep Safari at the Yala National Park. Your night stay will be at Cinnamon Wild, Yala.
The next day you will be driven to the neighboring city of Mirissa. En route, you can visit the fish market as well as observe the old and mind boggling tradition of stilt fishing. Once you check in to Sri Sharavi Beach Villas in Mirissa, you can relax on the beach for the rest of the day.
Early next morning we will take you on a whale watching tour in Mirissa and then drive you to Galle, where you will explore the Galle Dutch Fort. Your next stop will be in Bentota, which is also on the southern coastline. Vivanta by Taj is the hotel you will be staying over for the night.
As you approach the end of this Sri Lanka family tour, days eleven and twelve are completely dedicated towards relaxing at the beach, giving yourself a nice sun tan and spending quality time with your family.
On day thirteen, you will begin your journey to Colombo. On the way, we have lined up a visit to the turtle Hatchery and a boat ride on the Madu Lake. Once in Colombo, your night stay will be at Galle Face Hotel.
Day fourteen is assigned for exploring the city and doing some shopping, provided you have sufficient time before the departure of your flight. You are now at the end of the wonderful and luxurious tour with Budget Arugambay Tours.

My Solo trip to Srilanka with Budget Arugambay Tours
My solo trip to Srilanka during the first week of Nov’19 was a memorable one.Though my trip was decided late and I gave a short notice, Budget Arugambay Tours team did manage to arrange the best tour for 17 nights and 18 days. Ansa, – the General Manager from Budget Arugambay Tours worked with me not only to finalize the tour plan but assured safety during the trip which was my main priority. Most of the hotels booked, the car assigned for the journey and the driver allotted for the trip was really good. Being a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable & safe travelling 2100+ kms throughout south and East Srilanka. Visited places like Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Yala, Mirissa , Negombo , Arugambay, Ella & Colombo. Also travelled in the most scenic train journey from kandy to Nanu Oya. All required arrangements in these places were very well taken care of.
Being a solo traveler, travelling for 2100 kms with an unknown driver wasn’t tough at all because of Ansa. He was not only a driver, but a guide, photographer, guard and a friend too. Along with doing his duty of driving very well, rest all of the above mentioned tasks were also taken care to the best of his efforts. He got me a front seat for the Kandy Cultural evening too. Appreciate his great efforts throughout the trip to make it more comfortable and safe. Would like to thank Ansa for all his efforts and the Budget Arugambay Tours team /Abdull for all the arrangements. I strongly recommend Budget Arugambay Tours for all travelers especially for solo female travelers.

Wonderful 18 days in Sri Lanka
I had 18 days to spend in Sri Lanka in November and after some research, chose Budget Arugambay Tours as my tour company. Aswer was an excellent guide – knowledgeable, friendly, a safe driver, and very responsive when I wanted to add in extra stops or changes. I felt safe and comfortable throughout the trip, and I had the opportunity to see many wonderful parts of Sri Lanka (it really is as beautiful as everyone says). The company also did a good job of refining the itinerary to accommodate my feedback – for example, I wanted to do some hiking/trekking and added on a day at the beach.

Girls holiday
Excellent 18 day tour with my sister lead by our friendly & accommodating driver, Inam. We enjoyed safaris where we saw many animals, lots of walks to iconic sights & finished with beach time at Galle. Inam was very helpful, often getting up before the sun so we could have beautiful, quiet time at some sights. He looked after us very well. & we loved meeting his family on our last day. The bus was very clean & most of the accommodation was excellent, thank you Budget Arugambay Tours & Inam.
Budget Arugambay tour of Sri Lanka
We got Budget Arugambay tour to organised everything for us before we left Sydney. They did it all which was great as there is so much to do and we only had 18 days.
We were super busy the first few days. Maybe a little too busy?? I would avoid coming here during New Years as a lot is closed.
We saw so much we never would have thought of from archaeological wanders to turtle rescue centres!
We had a driver (Ishak) who picked us up at the airport and stayed with us the whole 18 days. He was amazing. Very quiet but full of useful information when needed. He really looked after our every need and made the trip very easy and enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend Budget Arugambay tour if you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka.
Family trip to Sri Lanka
We have spent the last 18 days travelling around Sri Lanka with our 4 teenagers. After reading fantastic reviews on trip advisor about Budget Arugambay tours we contacted them and Abdull promptly got back to me and worked on a fantastic itinerary based on the things we said we wanted to do and his advice and knowledge. Ansa and Faina from Budget Arugambay tours contacted us a number of times on our trip to make sure we were happy with everything.
Aswer, our tour guide, and Ishak, our very careful and calm driver, have provided us with an amazing opportunity to discover this beautiful and fascinating country. Ansa was always professional, helpful, fun and knowledgeable. He was able to connect us with informative guides in world heritage areas and experienced safari drivers which enabled us to make the most of all our experiences. Faina knowledge and advice also enabled us to tweak our itinerary to meet different needs as we travelled. This is the reason we were lucky to see a leopard in Yala – an experience I will never forget. I am also very grateful to both Abdul and Ishak for supporting me to find my lost bag in Ella.
Our highlights have been the safaris in Udawalwa, Minneriya and Yala, climbing Sigirya, the train ride to Ella and Ella itself, the cultural show in Kandy and a village tour in Sigirya. If you are travelling with teenagers I would recommend having all of these on your itinerary. It is not easy travelling with a large family and teenagers and keeping everyone happy. We have had a very happy and fascinating trip thanks to the support of Budget Arugambay tours.

Fabulous Sri Lankan Experience!
We are a family of 4, our children aged 9 and 7 and we recently spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka with Budget Arugambay Tours.

Brilliantly organised our Family vacation
Budget Arugambay Tours organised a perfect 13 Day family vacation for us in srilanka. We were a large group with 6 adults and 3 children.
From the first enquiry email to them they were extremely professional with all the interaction we had with them, both before and during the trip. Offered excellent advice as well as tailored the trip keeping in mind our preferences. Offered a good quality vehicle with more space than we needed allowing our large group having old parents and infant to travel in comfort.

Amazing trip with an amazing guide
Me and my family had a great time on the tour- hands down, enjoyed every moment spent! Ansa was a wonderful guide, we felt looked throughout the trip. It was obvious she took care of everything we told her during the planning stages and she managed to pull it off really well. She has assisted us in planning an incredible itenary for our one week trip to Sri Lanka as a family of four! It’ll be quite sometime till we stop talking about this trip back home! We were really surprised as we got an unexpected surprise from her as we reached Sri Lanka! Our travel agency provided us with a cell phone for the duration of our journey which allowed us to easily communicate locally. We were accommodated in amazing resorts and hotels during the trip. We were given the same driver for the entire week, who was again very friendly! The entire trip wound up exceeding our expectations.
